What is a carbon laser peel?

A two step laser treatment. The first step involves placement of carbon lotion. The second step involves removal of the carbon lotion with laser application to generate heat, which has an exfoliation effect. The heat crated induces skin remodelling and collagen production which leads to skin rejuvenation. A series of treatments will induce the deeper layers of the skin to produce new collagen that reduces the appearance of fine lines.

Which areas can be treated?

Common treatment areas include face, neck, chest, back, underarms and hands.

How many sessions are required?

A course of 4-6 sessions are recommended 3-4 weeks apart, for optimum results. After completing a course, maintenance sessions every 1-3 months can help to sustain results.

Does it hurt?

The treatment is generally pain free however some mild discomfort may be felt in sensitive areas. This will be a small pin prick sensation and/or a warming effect.

What skin concerns can carbon laser peel help?

The carbon laser peel is especially effective for the treatment of the following skin concerns: Poor skin texture, tired, dull, and/or ageing skin, pigmentation, active acne, acne scarring, enlarged pores, and fine lines and wrinkles.

 

How long does it take?

The treatment usually takes between 30-50 minutes, depending on which area being treated.

What are the side effects?

Side effects are usually minimal but may include redness, dryness and sensitivity for a day or two.

​

What should I do after treatment?

You must avoid using any cosmetics with harsh chemicals, avoid UV exposure and ensure you use a minimum of SPF30+.
