Laser Tattoo Removal
FAQ's
How does laser tattoo removal work?
Laser tattoo removal selectively targets tattoo ink with light energy in the form of a laser. The beam breaks down large particles of ink into smaller ink particles, that can be more easily cleared away by the body's immune system over a number of sessions.

Does it hurt?
Pain varies for everybody. It is likely you will feel some discomfort. It isn't the laser beam hitting the skin which causes discomfort, it is the shattering of the ink. The more ink that is present, the more you may feel. We can use an ice pack to make you more comfortable.

How long does a session take?
This ranges on average between 5-20 minutes for small to large tattoos.

Will I get scarring?
Scarring is a risk of this procedure, however it can be reduced by ensuring you follow the correct aftercare guidelines. We assess the skin at every session and it's reaction to the heat used to ensure the skin can tolerate it. If there are scars present already from your tattoo these will remain, or may become visible as the tattoo fades.

Can a tattoo be removed completely?
Yes, complete tattoo removal is possible. However, complete removal cannot be guaranteed. The number of sessions required will of course differ from client to client, and some may not reach full removal.

How many sessions are required?
It completely depends on factors such as your skin tissue and anatomy, the tattoo itself, tattoo ink, age of tattoo, and ink depth. For body tattoos we recommend 6-10 sessions. For facial tattoos, we recommend 2-5 sessions. This is just a guideline and more or less sessions may be required. These take place a minimum of 8 weeks apart.

Can you remove cosmetic tattoos on the face?
Yes!

Can you remove coloured tattoos?
Yes! We can remove both black and coloured tattoos using different laser lenses. It is important to note that coloured ink usually requires more sessions and can be more resistant to laser removal, and again complete removal cannot be guaranteed.
